The only feedback I have; I wish things had gone a little more smoothly. It felt like we approached closing with "everything is good" up until the day before where we were told it had to be pushed back.

The initial experience was great - lots of communication and a sense that getting everything done early in the process would make the close smoother. The closer we got to close date the less comfortable we were that we’d actually close on the planned date. The underwriter kept requesting additional information the week before closing. The requests seemed odd - the terms and conditions for an IRA? Those are government regulations that the underwriter should be aware of. It made for a very stressful last week - not knowing if we’d have a place to move to and what in the world we’d do with 2 moving trucks of our stuff? Thankfully it all worked out but the end of the process was not good at all.

I was fixated on the rate being higher than what I already had. CJ showed me how the refi would truly benefit me and my overall financial situation by eliminating my debt, freeing up cash flow every month. This gives us meaningful disposable income, allowing us to set aside a significant amount for savings. Getting additional funds drom the refi to take care of some deferred maintenance and some cosmetic updates to the home just makes it more enjoyable.
All said and done, even though my mortgage is higher, my financial situation hasn't been this good since pre-pandemic days.
