Walking through this process was a challenge to say the least. Being a first time home buyer I would have appreciated more clarification with the reason behind the abundance of document requests. I felt most satisfied when I was able to speak to Tom on the phone rather than receiving emails or automated videos. Buying a house is the biggest purchase someone will likely ever make. I think it's important for loan officers to understand that buyers have little to no information and would benefit by personal step by step guidance. Tom did make this effort when trying to acquire documents from my mother's financial institution(s) in order to certify the down payment gift. I appreciated his availability and willingness to speak to the institutions so they could understand exactly what was needed. It was confusing to have to speak to both Tom and Amanda. There was at least one instance where Amanda did not provide the correct information needed in order to acquire all of the paperwork. This was when Tom stepped in to offer support.
