Working with Steve was really great. He helped explain the process, was very good at communicating and keeping us in the loop. As first time home buyers, getting a mortgage seemed overwhelming, but Steve made it easy and really helped us in the process. I felt like he treated us as PEOPLE, and not just a case number. I feel as thought I know him well, and I can trust him. I would recommend Steve and his services to my friends who are needed a mortgage.
Our experience with others at AnnieMac aside from Steve, specifically the closing department, was less than adequate. As soon as they took over, I felt like we were suddenly an impersonal case and the particular needs in our situation were ignored. Communication also was distinctly lacking on important information, causing us to push back our closing date multiple times and sending us on an emotional rollercoaster.
However, even in this, I felt like Steve fought on our behalf to see us close on our house, and that is another reason that our experience with Steve was great. Would highly recommend working with him.

Steve has been great to work with. We had a complicated mortgage with a co-signer in another state and the down-payment coming from Canada, but Steve worked well to get it all figured out.
The underwriting on the other hand was frustrating as it seemed erratic and delayed closing. When we had communicated that my co-signer would not be able to sign with a notary the following week, it was ignored and sent that next week. This resulted in my co-signer from having to drive 5 hours to get the papers notarized with his wife. After he drove to make it work sent by mail, underwriting then communicates that the paperwork is no longer valid as the date was wrong and that it would need to be corrected and him to resign and get it notarized again. They had to have known that the closing date was going to be wrong days before on the paperwork and it was frustrating that we had to do all this work to be told that it no longer matter. The issue was fixed and new signatures were not needed, but caused a lot of stress and questioning the professionality and competency of the underwriters.
I have had a great experience with Steve and would definitely recommend him, but not the underwriters.
